In one of the sessions in our Regrowing a Living Culture series, I talked about some examples of people and projects that embody what the work of culture looks like, starting from the places where we find ourselves. This took me back to an event I took part in years ago.
In a room full of London policy people and ‘social innovators’ of various flavours, Pam Warhurst’s talk made a huge impression – and I remember feeling sorry for my friend Sam Conniff who had to speak next. This was at NESTA, in 2011, at the launch of a publication called the Compendium for the Civic Economy.
